For once, something right is happening in the Texas Criminal Justice system. This week’s Austin Chronicle has an incredible story accounting a real-life journy of restorative justice. This is what we need more than anything, justice that restores both the victim and the offender.

Of course, this assumes that crimes have victims. Victimless crimes (I.e. drug offenses) would be hard to deal with, but maybe that should tell us something about whether such offenses are even crimes at all.
