U.S. Senator Tom Coburn has withdrawn his objection to renewing the Patriot act without sunsetting its provisions. He’s says Americans remain concerned about the legislation and the potential loss of liberties it could pose. A member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Coburn also turned down an offer to serve on the conference that now will hammer out the differences between the Senate and House versions. The bill is now headed for a conference with the version that passed the House by a 257-171 vote days earlier.
What does this mean? He says Americans remain concerned yet he won’t vote against it and won’t even try to fix it by participating in the conferenc committee. So much for Mr. Independent. He looks like another fascist to me. — I did think maybe he would have explanation for it, but checking his weak website doesn’t shine any light on it either.
