Here are some pictures I took last week at the Oklahomans in Action office at 1901 N. Classen, Ste. 101
My question who is this shadowy outfit that is paying petitioners (some who are from out-of-state) $2 per signature (and apparently throwing in a motorscooter as a prize) for the TABOR petition?
I checked with the Ethics Commision website and here’s what they say…
305002 Oklahomans in Action Report: C1R Ballot/Issue Committee 09/22/2005 09/30/2005 Y
305002 Oklahomans in Action Report: C1R Ballot/Issue Committee 10/01/2005 10/31/2005 Y
305002 Oklahomans in Action Report: SO2 Ballot/Issue Committee 09/27/2005 Y
305002 Oklahomans in Action Report: SO2 Ballot/Issue Committee 10/11/2005 Y
305002 Oklahomans in Action Report: SO2 Ballot/Issue Committee 11/07/2005 Amended Y
Unfortunately the website only tells what reports have been filed and doesn’t have the actual filings available for PDF download. I don’t have time this week to go to the capitol to get copies of these reports, but if someone out there had the time to do this (and then share what you find with the public), it would be a very goodthing.
For more information on the TABOR issue go to: Okiefunk.com: Oklahoma TABOR Supporters Attack State Teachers (scroll down to the comments to read about my most recent encounter with an OUT-OF-STATE TABOR PETITIONER.
Oh and I got a real kick out of their sign that says “OKLAHOMANS’ IN ACTION” — first because many of the folks collecting signatures for them aren’t from Oklahoma, and secondly because they don’t understand the most basic of grammar rules (the apostrophe on the word “Oklahomans'”would make it possessive which makes no sense at all. Maybe the TABOR folks should quit attacking teachers and instead consider going back to school.
And here’s the website for the group that is paying OUT-OF-STATE petitioners to collect signatures for the Tabor ballot measure…
