Just wanted to post a quick note and say that I’ve made it back from San Francisco yesterday but will be departing either tonight or tomorrow morning for Austin, where I’ll be until Sunday.
As for the SF trip, I was out there to participate in the GI Rights Hotline network retreat, a gathering of counselors and lawyers who help servicemembers get out of the military. The conference itself was very informative and inspiring and I came away with a new appreciation for this area of work. — There’s lots more I’ll say later, and of course I have tons of pictures 🙂
As for the Austin trip, I’ll be there for the annual convention of the National Lawyers Guild. The convention should be very productive, but I’m mostly looking forward to the meetings of the Military Law Task Force and The United People of Color Caucus. (my involvement in this group is being one of a very few multi-racial American Indian members)
I must say though that I am a bit tired already from my last trip. I normally enjoy traveling, but this many trips in such a short period of time really is tiresome.
I know what you mean! Traveling is always tiresome, now matter how
much fun!
Hey I’m American Indian as well? What tribe? I’m Choctaw and maybe something else.
That is a small world. — Cherokee, maybe something else too, but Cherokee is what we know about.
Sorry, I was logged in on my brother’s computer. That was me talking in the comment above.
