Muskogee Phoenix: Support the troops best by bringing them home — by c. huti Reynolds

A strident but compelling LTE by a friend and fellow Oklahoma Green party member. I differ with him a little bit on his tone (I would not charectorize those who put yellow stickers on their cars in the same way that he does — those folks do mean well and you can’t knock that.), but I do agree with him that this war has made us all accomplices in war crimes (by way of our taxes), which honestly makes it difficult to know what is the right, moral and ethical thing to do in such mad times.

Anyway here’s the letter…

Support the troops best by bringing them home

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld deserve great disrespect.

They deserve to be impeached — for deliberately invading a country that was not a threat to us, one we’d already defeated 12 years previous and had since been bombed back to the Stone Age; for spying on American citizens, severely violating the U.S. Constitution; for torture of many people including citizens of other countries around the world

Bush is a war criminal and has made all U.S. citizens war criminals, just as the Germans were in World War II.

Remember Nuremberg?

I’m a five-year Navy veteran, honorably discharged a month before Vietnam became a “war.”

I’m a member of Veterans for Peace and was one of the 370 people arrested with Cindy Sheehan at the White House on Sept. 26.

Did you hear about that? Or the 300,000 people protesting the war in D.C on Sept. 24?

Probably your war/hate-mongering, right-wing corporate-controlled media didn’t report it.

I didn’t wake up — overcome — the U.S. mind-control to the wrongdoing of our country until five years ago, at the age of 60. So there is hope for a lot of people to do the same.

I support the troops by asking to bring them home. What are you doing, putting a yellow decal on your car that identifies you as a warmonger/criminal?

Nvwato hiyadv idehesdi (Cherokee for “Let us live together in peace”).
